Role guide: field sales representative

Native workspace evidence

This role works primarily in the React Native visit workspace. A phone-width web Visit form is not the native layout and cannot evidence its offline queue, visit widgets or device capture controls, so this guide deliberately stays text-only until an authenticated demo2 mobile-build capture is available. On the device, treat partner account, branch and outlet as a pre-flight check before capturing orders, photos or checklist responses, then verify the outbox after an offline save instead of submitting the visit again.

This guide is for the rep who works a beat: your xMatix day starts and ends on the mobile app — mark attendance, open the day's visit plan, work each outlet through its checklist, take orders (or sell off the van), and let the app sync whenever the network allows. You may go hours without signal; the app is built for that.

Your path

  1. Signing in to xMatix — your first sign-in from the invitation email.
  2. Using xMatix on mobile — install the app and get it set up.
  3. How the mobile app is organized — where your work lives on the phone.
  4. Visits and the field day — the visit is the unit of your day; learn its shape.
  5. Complete a visit on mobile — the core procedure, step by step.
  6. Checklists, tasks and visit activities — the in-outlet work a visit asks of you.
  7. Creating a sales order — taking the order while you're standing in the outlet.
  8. Van sales: load, sell, settle — if you carry stock, this is your load-out and settlement loop.
  9. Mobile attendance — marking the start and end of your working day.
  10. Working offline: sync status and recovery — what the sync indicators mean and how to recover.

Day to day

Mark attendance when the day starts, then open today's route — it comes from a visit plan someone scheduled for you. At each outlet you complete the visit: work the checklist, capture what the outlet needs, and create the order — or invoice straight off the vehicle in van sales. Between outlets, glance at the sync status; everything you captured uploads on its own when signal returns.

Common questions

Can I work with no signal?

Yes — the whole visit flow works offline, and your captures queue up and sync when the network returns. How offline-first mobile works explains the model; Working offline shows the indicators and what to do if something won't sync.

Where do the photos and readings I capture go?

Onto the record you captured them against — visit, outlet or order — and up to the server on the next sync. Capture data in the field covers photos, signatures, locations and forms.

The app is misbehaving — frozen list, stuck sync, missing screen?

Start with Troubleshooting the mobile app — most fixes are a refresh or a re-sync, not a reinstall.
