Role guide: field service technician

Native workspace evidence

This role works in the React Native service-order workspace. A responsive web Service Order list does not prove the native saved-view controls, local availability or offline status changes, so this guide has no screenshot until an authenticated demo2 mobile-build capture is available. On the device, confirm the saved view and filters before treating a job as missing; after opening the correct order, verify customer, location, appointment and status before updating the sequence, checklist, time, parts and proof that the dispatcher and back office will read.

This guide is for the technician in the van. Your xMatix day arrives as assigned work on the mobile app: drive to the job, work the checklist, log your time and parts, capture proof, and move to the next one — with the app carrying you through basements and dead zones where there's no signal at all.

  1. Using xMatix on mobile — install the app and get signed in.
  2. The technician's day — the anchor page: your schedule, your jobs, your statuses.

Day to day

Open the app and your day is already there — The technician's day shows the jobs in order. At each site you move the service order through its statuses, work the checklist, capture the photos and the customer's signature, and log your hours on a time sheet. No signal on site changes nothing: finish the job as normal and it syncs on the drive out.

Common questions

Can I complete a job with no signal?

Where does my next job come from?

From the dispatcher — work is routed by skills and capacity, and automatic assignment rules decide the owner. If your schedule looks wrong, that conversation starts at the dispatch console, not on your phone.

Where do I verify what was billed from the job?

Review the service-order line's pending invoice quantity, posting type and generated document links. Invoicing a service order explains full versus selective generation and why covered work may become a claim instead of a customer invoice.
